Being a small town, you don't have much variety. I only continue living here because he room and board at college was too expensive for me. We have two gas stations, and one small General Dollar store. There are no pharmacies, no movie theaters, no gyms (except for the local high school), and recently a family friend opened up a little restaurant in town. It's the only restaurant in town, if you don't count the gas station pizzas and chicken. Although we may not have much, the people are really hospitable and overall very lovely. I plan on moving to a town closer to my university seeing as I drive about 45 miles three days a week to attend my classes.
Like I previously stated, there is only one small restaurant in town (excluding the gas station foods like fried chicken ans pizza) and the quality is very good. It's homemade Mexican food. The restaurant itself is very small, but the food and service is great. Aside from this, there is nothing else around unless you go to the nearest town over which is about a ten to fifteen minute drive.
The weather does not really have a big impact. Of course there are droughts in the summers, but as for hurricanes we have usually had the calmer areas. we had a couple of earthquakes but no considerable damage. Tornadoes have not touched the town. make sure you have light clothing for the summer and rainboots for early spring.
