Tarpon Springs is rich in Greek history. Many small business' and gift shops. Free family activities every weekend. Amazing holiday family activities, free for all! The people are friendly and helpful. I really love the way this city is united and committed to all residents and their well being! Awesome water spray park for the kids, exercise park, dog park, boat launch and many other attractions. The Sponge Docks area and downtown Tarpon are a must see attraction. The restaurants and food are great. Tarpon=HISTORY, COMMUNITY, HEALTH, FITNESS, ENTERTAINMENT, FAMILY MATTERS.The people in Tarpon Springs are a FAMILY/community!
NO Place like it! Greek culture, Sponge docks, Breweries, Restaurants, Antiques, parks, 2 beaches the List goes on. Affordable waterfront.
Despite being fairly small compared to many other towns, Tarpon has a certain "small-world" culture to it. I grew up here from the age of two, and I am soon going to be a senior at the local High School. The people I knew from elementary school are still around me today. Our towns "niche" per say is that it is known for its greek origins. There is never a dull moment in the historic parts of town because of this. Classic greek paintings and the aroma of greek food linger wherever you may walk.
