Sutherlin is a small town with a rural living experience. There isn't much outward expansion here, as the city council is focused more on improving the current businesses rather than adding new business opportunities. They are very determined to patch pot holes and improve the overall look of the town. The residents are more traditional and do not like change very much, which keeps it a quiet town. While Although there is room for improvement, it is a great town to live in if you are tired of the hustle and bustle of a large city.

I would like to see Sutherlin's businesses become more open minded and realize the benefits of allowing certain businesses in the area. The people around this small town are known to wrongfully judge any transplants simply because they are not from the area, which can put a bad taste in the mouth of one looking to relocate here. The attractions and geographical aspects of Sutherlin are VERY inviting, it is just the people who live here that make this an unfriendly place.
I love Sutherlin! It is a wonderful place to raise my two kids. The schools are great. The community is wonderful. It is a small town really close to some larger towns which make sit perfect for us!
