Working in Susanville
I moved to Susanville, California because I have gotten recruited to play volleyball for the community college they have Lassen College. In town they have several stores which are very dependable but sometimes don't have the essentials you would need although you could ask a neighbor or someone. The nearby lakes are much fun to go to and also have very fun hiking trails.
Susanville is a small and very slow paced town in the high sierras. Not much going on here as far as jobs. The majority of locals are employed by one of the three prisons we have around here or by make a living as a rancher. Not a good place to be if you love to shop since the closest city is 80 miles away. Walmart and Ross are the main places for locals to shop around here. Nor are there many fun things for kids to do here unfortunately. However if you enjoy the outdoors, then you will find unlimited places to go and things to do. There are numerous beautiful, fun, places to hike and explore around this area.
Great area for outdoor activities and enthusiasts. Tons of agriculture in this area with many opportunities to excel in beef cattle production or hay farming operations. Unfortunately, the climate of the town is declining due to the state of CA and the current rules/laws. Definitely a "prison town".
