I have lived in Suffolk all of my life. It's a quiet city but it covers alot of territory. The city's borders are connected to several others cities including Chesapeake and Portsmouth which I find to be an interesting fact. There are several beautiful recreational parks and most of them are located on the water. I attended all 3 levels of the public school system (elementary, middle & high school) and graduate with honors.
The city has one community college but several universities within a short distance in nearby cities. If I could change one thing in Suffolk, it would be the mode of public transportation. It can be difficult to get from one location to another without a personal vehicle.

I moved from Chesapeake to Suffolk in my 8th-grade year of middle school. I was really distraught about the move because I would have to leave all my close friends behind. All my friends literally lived in my neighboorhood, or near me (walkable distance). I also had to make new friends and that was difficult for me, it made me even shyer than I already was. But slowly I started to make friends and get to know people. Now it's the summer before my 12th-grade year and I have great close friends and couldn't be happier. Honestly, I love a pretty privileged life, and I'm grateful for that. I wouldn't choose to live anywhere else. I love living here, and wouldn't change a thing.
I love Suffolk. I have lived here since I was 4, and couldn't ask for a better place to grow up. It has equal parts city and rural environments, making it a very diverse place to live. It is a low-crime area and I have never once been scared for my safety while out and about in Suffolk. I would change the amount of community based events that are held here. I would love to see more festivities and entertainment opportunities around this town. Otherwise, I truly love Suffolk!
