A small but welcoming community. Some can be rough but there are plenty of kind people and businesses to find. All the amenities you'd want are there, with no obvious gap in service that interferes on the quality of living. Commute time is normally low but it isn't uncommon for traffic to be clogged by a wreck or obstruction. While some schools shine (such as the Clark Advanced Learning Center or Indian River State College), the more readily available public schools are subpar at best and, while passable, are certainly rife with organizational issues. Great variety of food for the size of town with a perfect mixture of recognized chains and local gems that serve any kind of cuisine you could want. Overall, it isn't perfect, but it's great for what it is and can suitably sustain a comfortable life.
I’d give it 3.5 stars. The best thing about Stuart is that is has lots of natural beauty. There’s water everywhere and lots of bridges. Other than that it’s okay. There’s not much to do outside of going fishing or things on the water, so if you want to find anything to do you’ll have to commute to west Palm. It’s a decent place for families but it’s more geared for the 55+. It’s relatively safe, about average for an American town. They’re building like crazy but they aren’t building anything worth noting. Just more and more housing. I feel that there’s more potential to Stuart than it lived up to. I do think it’s the best town on the treasure coast. I’d say it’s a small town but it isn’t anymore, it’s very congested and the infrastructure is inconvenient. It’s okay.
Growing up in Stuart was the best! Lots of things to do including fishing, kayaking, boating and great neighborhood feel.
