Streamwood, IL is a very quiet neighborhood. We are right on the border of Schaumburg, IL. Everything is taken care of very well from our garbage disposal to our streets. There is plenty of stores and restaurants within a five mile radius and entertainment as well. About 15 minutes away, we have Woodfield Mall which has over 100 shops and fine dining/fast food. The taxes we pay here are not too bad either. I love it here!

Overall, Streamwood is a very nice place to live. It has an air of undisturbed tranquility that just puts your heart at ease. It is very safe ( even at night ) and is also close to a few parks. One deciding factor that I am aware of for many families is affordability. While not as expensive as say, Barrington, living in Streamwood is still pretty costly. We are blessed enough to still be living here after several years, but many of our neighbors have moved out because of the rising prices. Streamwood is a wonderful place to live so long as you have enough money to do so.
I love the community. I live in a quiet older neighborhood that surrounds 4 schools. Raising my little sister being in Streamwood has it's benefits. There's tons of kids in the neighborhood. There is never any violence in either. I think this is what I was looking for when I chose to move here. I also live about 3 minutes from the police department, so that's even better. I have suggested that a few of my friends should move out here and that they wouldn't be disappointed.
