Stedman is a small community with good family values. Everyone knows everyone and sometimes this can be annoying. We have several grocery stores in a 5 mile radius and a small park. Stedman has multiple churches so anyone new would find one that they liked. There are several neighborhoods, large and small. Stedman also has a community pool.
I have lived in Stedman, NC for about four years now. I moved here during my freshman year of highschool and I have loved it ever since. Overall, Stedman is a great place. Everything is close by and fairly convenient. Every one that I, personally, have came across seems to be rather nice and more than willing to lend a hand if asked. There are plenty of "mom and pop" shops and 24 used to run straight through them all. Passing travelers were given the perfect opportunity to stop in and see what services the local businesses had to offer. The only downfall however is the fact that hwy24 has had some reconstruction and now does not pass through the heart of Stedman as it once did. This caused businesses to die down a bit, including the local pharmacy. I am sure once everyone becomes used to the new traffic patterns, everything will return to how it once was. 10/10 would recommend.
Stedman is very family and community oriented. It is a small town with small town values. Commuting to work, shopping and restaurants are is within 20 to 35 minutes.
