I love Staunton's small town vibe. Knowing everyone is great! I love going to local stores and knowing everyone personally, or at least know their family.
It is a very quaint town. The school is nice, and as a student there I can say that I was prepared for college. The town is small (about 5,000) but there are events that take place throughout the year that I enjoyed attending. It's about an hour out from St. Louis, and there are other towns scattered about as well. I felt very comfortable in this town and can say that it was a nice place to live.
Terrible town, worst one in my 50+ years of life of living all over the U S. No privacy, Click-click people, stuck up people, Nosey, harassing officials, city threatens new residents to get money--esp. low income, handicap and women. New businesses come and go quickly-one or two years. New residents move out after one to three years. Not much to do but eat and drink--costly too. School is good but expensive for each child. Park water and RR closed 7 months. Bad Phone Reception. County bus only and costly.
