Ideal “one red-light town; has locally owned restaurants and businesses, within a few minutes of bigger towns (Athens, Winder, etc.), beautiful wooded scenery, quiet neighborhoods... I wouldn’t change a thing.
Statham is a small town in Georgia with only 1 red light. This little town is quant and quite with a population of about 2500 people. In our small town everybody knows everybody. There are several festivals during the year that are family friendly, my favorite the Sunflower festival. We are just minutes away from The University of Georgia, home of UGA the bulldog. Go Dawgs!!! The residents here are very welcoming and friendly. I love the small town feeling along with the southern hospitality and charm.
You get all the benefits living in a small town, but also have the advantage of being 15 minutes from 3 other towns with many different stores, restaurants, and good schools. (Athens, Bethlehem, and Winder)
