What I like most about Stafford is that it is a small suburban city just outside of Houston, so it is very close to attractions, restaurants and shopping. It is a safe place to live and crime rate is among the lowest across the nation. The city is quite diverse and twice as many people work in the city as live here. The city is unique in that the school system is the only municipal district in the state of Texas. Class sizes are small compared to other public schools. Stafford has gradually changed over the past 5 year and has moved from an industrial town to a family friendly living environment with shopping centers, fast food restaurants, and recreational facilities. The city is creating a town center named “The Grid” that will have upscale restaurants, shopping, hotels, and apartment living that should be fully operational within the next five years.
Stafford in many ways defies the notion "all that glitters is not gold". This city is a loving and peaceful environment that holds the well being of its residents to a very high standard. It contains various institutions and services that are created to meet the needs of its locals, at little to no cost. An example of such services is its very own Stafford Municipal School District. Containing grades K-12, SMSD is a little public district that ensures the children of this community a free, rich and enjoyable education. There is also a public library, a community college, among other things all in one city. Stafford glitters and its definitely gold in the eyes of its residents.
Stafford is a very small town just south of Houston. It's very family friendly, the area isn't too congested, and it's like everyone knows everyone in the community. There's malls, arcades, and fun hangout spots to enjoy with friends or family. If you're a small town type of person, this is the city for you!
