Couple in our mid 30's moved to Stacy, MN from Minneapolis, MN 2 Years ago. It has a nice, safe, quiet, small town feel compared to living in the city. We have an 11 acre wooded lot with a large lawn, small barn and garden. It is a great place to raise a small child, with everyday freedoms to explore the outdoor world without the worry of busy streets right outside your front door. A few things that we miss about being closer to the city is the fact that you do have a 20 Min drive to most large retailers, grocery stores and restaurants.
Stacy is a great place to live, but there isn't much in town. There is a couple bars, Kwik Trip, and a subway. However, it is just a 15 minute drive to North Branch or Forest Lake where you can do your every day shopping. It is about a 45 minute commute to the Twin Cities. Very family friendly area.
I guess it all depends on what you want in life. In my specific neighborhood there are lots of dogs and some of them can be pretty nasty, but I grew up here, my friends are here.
