I lived here in St.Clair.Shores for 20 years now. This February of 2019 I just bought my 2nd house now in the Shores cause I think it's the best or 1 of the best suburbs and cities to live in Macomb county Michigan. And in the summer with the lake across the road of on Jefferson from me, I can walk or ride my bike to the lake go to all the boating sports bars and restraunt s and the VFW hall on the lake and go boating, fishing etc...in summer months. And I love the Harper Cruise they have in the summer. Every place has crime, from my experience I never had any problems with any kind of crime in the Shores. Then it is people of almost all income levels of poor middle class people to the millionaire group of people. Most people in the Shores are very good people. I highly recommend St.Clair.Shores is a great place to live.

I've lived in St. Clair Shores for almost 2 years now. I was looking for a place to buy my first home, and I fell in love with my neighborhood. Very cute post-war/mid-century homes within walking distance of bakeries, restaurants, coffee shops, gift shops, and other small businesses. Abundant grocery stores and dining options. Best city to find great Italian food. I wish there was more of a vibrant nightlife with late night dancing or activities for the LGBT community.
We bought our first home here in St. Clair Shores 23 years ago and here we are, still in our first home. There is no reason to leave. It is a beautiful, safe city that is close to the water, a short drive to downtown Detroit which offers great restaurants and nightlife. I see more young couples moving in and positive vibe with breweries opening and events going on year round. We love our city!
