Saint Augustine Florida is a very interesting and beautiful place to visit and live. There's a whole lot you can do here, we've got the fountain of Youth, Ripley's Believe It or Not, ghost tours, beaches and the ocean. St Augustine is also one of the oldest cities and we have the fort which was back in the Spanish War days and you can also tour it as well. Plus we have some of the greatest places to eat downtown mom and pop restaurants and they're the best! Just about every weekend there is something going on downtown that you can do including wine testing and music.
I recently moved to St. Augustine and I love it. The community is very rich in history and beauty. The beach is a short drive, as well as historic downtown, museums, the lighthouse, etc. There is always something to do. If you stay in the downtown area, everything is walking distance. I do think, however, especially when in historic downtown people need to be aware of the homeless population. It is larger, but only in the downtown area, near George St. The town is definitely a tourist attraction, but this just means there are so many hidden gems that only the locals know about.
Saint Augustine is a very beautiful place to live and raise a family. It's a very small town and has beautiful historical museums and buildings that have survived for over 450 years. However, my only issues are during the summertime and wintertime. The whole town is completely flooded with tourists. While you get that all throughout Florida, Saint Augustine just doesn't have enough space (width-wise) to support that many bodies. I am a huge earth lover and it is terribly sad to constantly see woods I grew up in being torn down for the purpose of more homes for people to come to live here. Other than that, I would recommend Saint Augustine for people who enjoy the quietness.
