it ok to live here but it pretty much has nothing to do in the area. the job market is bad around here and also the people are a little old school
Springfield and the surrounding areas (Crossroads, Troy, East Troy) are pretty quaint. The areas are not densely packed, but are spread out over a wide area. As a result, a lot of students will have a bit of a trek to the local public schools, now that 3 of the 4 elementary schools have closed.
Overall, it's a pretty average area of Northern PA.

There are a lot of historic or older homes here, as well as farm houses, not to mention the recent spike in new housing developments. I recently read a newspaper article about how it is cheaper to buy a home here than to rent. I do not notice a lot of abandoned homes here. I do not notice obviously bad places to live, but there are some areas where affluent people congregate (York Suburban/Dallastown school districts).
