Springfield Township Reviews
Springfield Township is a township in Union County, New Jersey, United States. Recent housing construction has pushed the township's population to 17,502. Springfield has a wonderful family friendly community with good schools. There is one early elementary school , two 3-5 schools, one middle and one high school. The downtown area has been in the upgrading works for a bunch of years. It is currently old and shabby. Not many places to eat or shops to visit. You have to go to the surrounding towns for that. Transportation into NYC is good. Bus services or near by mid-town direct train.
What I like about Springfield is that it is a small town, about 15,500 residents. The Memorial Day parade brings out the town’s Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Soccer teams and fire trucks. Local politicians give out mini American flags and candy to the kids. Sometimes the volunteer First aid will have a picnic afterwards. Everyone is invited. It’s fun to catch up with people you have seen in awhile. I look forward to to every year. The high school is small compared to the surrounding towns but their school spirit is huge. The bleachers are full of students, parents and grand parents cheering the football, basketball and soccer teams. What I really like about Springfield is that people who grew up in Springfield stay in Springfield or come back to Springfield to raise their families. It’s a great small American town.
Springfield is a very small town, but also very safe. The school districts are great which makes this town family friendly.
