Springfield, Illinois, is a great place to grow and learn as a person. Springfield teaches its citizens and visitors a lot about leadership as we are the city known for Abraham Lincoln. The public school system is amazing as it strives to help students grow and help Springfield students grow into strong, independent leaders. The city is a perfect size as it is big enough to have amazing diversity and an exceptional and gorgeous downtown area, but it still is small enough to get from one end of town to the other in 15-30 minutes. There are many government and corporate jobs as the city of Springfield and the state government are the number one employers in Springfield. There are many opportunities for minimum wage and small business jobs. Countless restaurants are constantly looking for hires and employ a lot of younger kids in the city. Historic downtown Springfield is a gold mine for small businesses and Springfield does a great job at supporting the local business in Springfield.
This is a very lovely city...It is the capital of Illinois and we pride ourselves on being the original grounds that Abe Lincoln walked on . We have a great tourist attraction. This is what you would call a big little town. Plenty of family things to do and schools are great along with the doctors
Springfield is a laid back city in Illinois, they do have a little night life. I think Springfield is par for the course, considering the size and demographics. The schools are pretty good, they also have a wonderful museum for Abraham Lincoln. There is a University of Illinois Campus, and a Junior College named Lincoln Land Community College.
Springfield is the home of Abraham Lincoln! Living here, you get to see many unique land marks and many unique historical homes and sites.
The city of Springfield, which is the capital of Illinois, is a nice place to live with so many different events to see in the downtown area like the Illinois State Capitol's dome has statues of historical figures, they have the Dana Thomas House, The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. Springfield also has other beautiful sights like the Lincoln Monument, Old State Capitol and more I can go on like the Knight's Action Park, I am just naming off a few there are so many different historical art and buildings that are a must-see. Springfield has a few colleges like the Lincoln Land Community College and the University of Illinois Springfield, St. John College of Nursing.
Excellent family town, but definitely two "sides of town". West side is the up and coming more wealthy. Plenty of history. No private schools that are not religious based.
Springfield is a great town with many things to do. It had many local restaurants, shopping centers, and local attractions. People are very friendly and overall it is a great town.
Love the community, people choices of food and trails to walk. Lots of resources to choose from. Decent sized town to live in.
I have grown up and have lived in Springfield Illinois my entire life. I have visited other cities for various reasons but am very glad that I can call Springfield my home. I have always felt safe in the public high school I attended. I am thankful for the Catholic education I received at Blessed Sacrament School. I love the fact I lived near Washington Park. There are so many things that one can do there, the Route 66 festival downtown, Blues and Barbeque, to the annual city basketball tournament. It has over 117,000 people yet seems like a small town. The news coverage is adequate n most things but very good on high school sports. Lake Springfield is great for boating and fishing or just enjoying a sunset. Its's not just a punchline of the cartoon show the Simpsons. It a real town that was great to be from!
Pretty good and safe place to live. Several things to do around town including visiting several historic sites!
I moved here is January. I found a small apartment that fits me perfectly. I can get from one side of town to the other in about 20 minutes!
Springfield has always been my home--born and raised. We are a community rich with diversity despite it being politically charged. We've got a lot of history and a lot of passionate people who are proud to live here. I am one of those people.
I was born and raised in Springfield, Illinois and greatly revere this town. This capital city has a quaint feel, combined with history and friendly locals. Historic Lincoln sites, good eats and local shopping are just a few gems of this area.
Great city! Lots of history and places to visit. People who like to party the curve is the best place to visit. There’s a large mall in the west end of Springfield as well as a strip mall and tons of restaurants. The downtown farmers market is a great place to visit weekly for fresh food. A nice place for coffee besides Starbucks is the Andiamo Cafe. Looking to take your date to a fine dining spot with the best desserts in town? Head to Peases at Bunn Gourmet in the west end.
Springfield is a community, filled with people who are wholesome to each other because they truly know what it's meant to be treated as such. It's a place open to the ingenuity of our youth and the preservation of our elders. It's a place where you can enjoy a coffee with a friend downtown or run through the autumn leaves on an October afternoon. It's a special place that accepts people of all faiths, races, and beliefs.
Springfield is the states capital. There is always something to be doing. The people are friendly. There is art, history, and recreational activities to attens about every weekend. I enjoy it here.
it's fantastic! We have been here for a few months. It's worked out great given the size of the town. Things are accessible from parks, to the gym, to multiple stores to choose from.
