I think this rating is terrible! I believe with all my heart that the cost of living here is very high. I am not sure how Niche came to get their information, but this capital city is full of wealthy politicians who buy expensive homes, expensive cars, and other expensive toys! This drives the prices of average items way up. While I was raised in an upper middle class home, graduated from college and attended some graduate school, taught in one of Springfield's finest private schools, I became disabled after a serious accident and can no longer work. The very small amount I get from SS disability does not pay my bills AND afford me to buy food to stay healthy! this is one reason why I can say for sure the cost of living is WAY too high!

Springfield is a small, Midwestern city, with not much to do except party. The economy is going down hill fast, the public education system poor, and the violence is rampant. However, it is the state capital and home of Abraham Lincoln. This provides a lot of opportunities to learn about the 16th president of the United States. Springfield is also the home of the horseshoe, a tradition that has been enjoyed here since the 1950s. Try a horseshoe once and you will forever come back for more!
Springfield is a pretty average city, with a bignore population. Springfield has a variety of public schools, even a few private schools. It's also very family friendly. Not to much crime goes on here. Springfield has a pretty decent night life if you like bars and clubs. Thinking about visiting springfield, I'd say it's worth it. Filled with tourist attractions. Come visit!
