Spencer is a very good town. It deserves a better rating than a C+. It should be rated at a B. It’s a convenient town with good restaurants, mom and pop shops, and grocery stores. The schools are improving consistently and are rated about average for the state of MA. Most people I know who graduated from this school system are productive members of society. There are a lot of beautiful homes throughout the town. The center of town has improved both demographically and cosmetically. There are maybe 2-3 neighborhoods that are a little run down, but when you compare to nearby Worcester or Southbridge, they aren’t bad. Its not an insanely affluent town like Weston, but its a good town and people should give it chance.
The things that I like about Spencer, Ma is that it it has everything you need, trails for the outdoors type, good school system, and great small businesses.
Spencer is a small community with few good neighborhoods, and the school district is in desperate need to be revitalized. While I was growing up it was a great community, though it was gone downhill, many are not involved in the community and many school-choice out of the district.
