I've lived in Speedway for a couple of years now and I can honestly say that it's one of the best towns I've lived in! The community is so tightly knit together, and every truly cares for each other. Just the other day, I volunteered at the town's city hall for election day. I was not only happy that people came out to vote, but I was also intruiged by how everyone knew each other. Each person adressed one of us by our first name, and even said thank you for coming out that day. Speedway is one of the only places in Indianapolis that can give you that good old-fashioned southern hospitality in the midwest!
I actually love Speedway. Living near speedway has been better than living in Eagle Creek. The speedway area looks historical and kept. Though the houses are aged probably to maintain the historical vintage look associated with the town, the area appears to be safe, clean, and well maintained / monitored. If I could afford a 1st home....i dont think I would mind living in that area. This year 2019, I had a 1st time opportunity to work during the motor speedway and it was awesome! I give the Indianapolis Motor Speedway community 2 thumbs up.
We are a small town (12,000) with our own town government (a town council), school system, police, fire, and street departments. The schools are top-rated and our teachers are the highest paid in the state. Our industrial companies are leaders in their field, our neighborhood association is active, and our Main Street is thriving as a family-fun destination for racing related activities. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway in located within our town borders. We are used to hosting groups of between 50,000 and 250,000.
