As a town that is sandwiched between Greenville, SC and Asheville, NC, Spartanburg is a town that is often overlooked; however, it may just be one of upstate South Carolina's best kept secrets. Beside being an up and coming business hub, it is also a very artsy town that is also family friendly. One of the endearing features of this town is the diversity of restaurants that ranges from Irish to Vietnamese. There are also coffee houses and ice cream shops to indulge your sweet tooth. Morgan square features bands and different events at various times. If you like shows, art exhibits and Science the Chapman Cultural Center will not disappoint. During the summer months the kids will enjoy splashing in the fountain at Barnet Park, where you can also catch outdoor movies and concerts from time to time. Something for everyone here.

The city of Spartanburg,SC has changed greatly since I was younger. The downtown area has once again become alive. Having a park-like atmosphere, there are new restaurants that have opened, open sitting areas with fountains, and even a free putt putt course! In the winter, a small ice skating rink is put up in the open area, allowing fun and exercise after school and on weekends. In the summer, a company brings in a super water slide that is almost a half mile long! There are neighboring cities and towns with more things to do, but there are also ones with much less to do. I am happy living in the city that I live in.
Born and raised here. Awesome schools and community! No place like Spartanburg. Restaurants are amazing and people are very friendly except a few people but you will get that in all places.
