Southwest Ranches Reviews
Rating 4.41 out of 5 29 reviews
The neighborhood is quaint and very quiet, and there are a variety of houses that you can enjoy looking at while driving. However, there are many things to consider about this neighborhood. One is the presence of canals, in which on most roads there is no guardrail and they are especially difficult to see, especially at night, which leads into another problem: a lack of streetlights. There are absolutely no street lights or light poles whatsoever in this neighborhood, and all you can rely on for light are the headlights of your vehicle and the lighting from some properties. This makes it very inconvenient and uncomfortable to drive at night, and to do any type of activity such as biking or jogging, due to the lack of sidewalks as well. The neighborhood is a wealthy neighborhood that may come off as charming at first, but once you get to know the area, it is lacking significant features of a family-friendly neighborhood.
I enjoy living and being from Southwest Ranches. Although it is as suburban as the rest of the area, in terms of location, Southwest Ranches has made it it’s mission to preserve and reflect a rural lifestyle. The location is far enough from the city that it’s not noisy but relatively close enough where the drive isn’t long if someone wants to experience nightlife or go to the beach. The nature of the town is beautiful and the community is tight-knit. There is also a form of independence in this town that I love. Overall, I have mainly positive reviews of the town if you prefer this form of lifestyle.
I loved living in Southwest Ranches, FL. A great part about the town is that everyone has large plots of land, so you don't have to have the immediate view of their backyard. Homes also have long driveways meaning there is no hassle of having to keep your cars off the street like in an HOA regulated neighborhood. My favorite part is how relaxing it feels at night. Minimal street lights give a very "country-like" feeling with zero noise of cars passing by on nearby streets.
