Southgate is a welcoming community. With parks within walking distance of all houses, local gathering and celebrations. The local police department is centrally located and is always around to make sure things are in order. The city businesses are friendly and supportive of everyone. There is always something going on for people of all ages to enjoy.

We enjoy living in Southgate Michigan. It is a small suburb south of Detroit. It is still growing in this difficult economy. The job market is still steady. The neighborhoods are clean and well-kept. I like that it's close to my work and school. I like that nearby there are parks and many recreational activities. The surrounding cities are very similar and it's a nice overall community.
Lacks a lot of diversity all you really see is white trump supporters an okay school district not the best but not the worst kids do drugs stuff like that is the usual the city is a bit boring doesn’t have much to do except for a movie theater and a couple of restaurants there should be more to choose from than the ones right now it’s not the worst city ever it’s quite okay what really bothered me was just diversity and people who have really conservative views there should be changes otherwise than that it’s quite alright
