I've been living here for my entire life and the whole experience has been wonderful! I personally live further away from what I consider to be the main part of town, which means my area is very quiet and safe. However, going into town is a great experience in itself. While there's some of the basic businesses (ex: Dairy Queen) there are many small SSP businesses that the town treasures. The majority of people are very nice, and helpful if you can't find a certain location. Lastly, I want to mention that there are several parks to walk around, and plenty of events to attend in order to get more involved with the community. The town seems to be rather welcome to new residents, but this is based solely on my perspective so I cannot say for certain what everyone's experience with this is.

South Saint Paul is a wonderful place to live, there is a little bit of everything to do. Some of my most favorite parks lie right within this suburb off the Great Mississippi. Such as the Great River Trail that is a biking/hiking path running right alone the Mississippi, it brings you right into downtown St Paul near a Caribou Coffee which is perfect for grabbing a cup of your favorite coffee. There is also a Dog Park for our little friends right off Concord on it's own little Island. As if that's not enough there is golf courses and Frisbee golf courses. There is even an archery range. If you're feeling hungry there is the local Sunlight Restaurant which that average meal runs between $5-$7, very affordable. In the summer time Southview Blvd is closed off for the On the Road Again annual festival which has petting zoo's, arts & crafts for sale, and much more. South Saint Paul has a little bit of everything for every type of person. It is definitely a great place to live.
Long term resident of South St. Paul since 1983. Homeowner and parent of 3 children. One child is currently attending the high school. Her high school experience has held frustrations with the International Baccalaureate program. She opted for a hybrid of PSEO and IB classes. Chinese and Science have been weaknesses in her training. English and Math have been strengths. Several teachers and administrators have been particularly encouraging.
