South Jordan is a quiet and somehow still bustling town. It's somewhat of an intermediary between Utah County and Salt Lake County, in my experience, with fairly accepting people albeit still leaning very conservative. Having moved from Utah County where I grew up my whole life, I've been pleasantly surprised by how many pride flags and such I see around my neighborhood, and I didn't realize how much more welcome that makes me feel. It's a safe town, though quiet. If you want nightlife, you'll need to go further to Salt Lake proper, but South Jordan is a great little place to settle down for a while. I just wish housing and such weren't so expensive.
Sadly, I recently (as in a few years ago) moved from Idaho and if I could (which technically I can), I would put a 1 star for South Jordan. Coming from Idaho, Utah is way overcrowded with not enough nature in the valley and the neighbors are average. It also doesn't help that I've lived in Idaho for most of my life, so I am very attached. But still, over crowded, too many apartments being built, and average schools (good selection of colleges though).
I have loved living in South Jordan! There are so many fun things to do, such as golfing at Mulligans, eating at The Pie Pizzeria, and participating in the city fairs and summer programs. South Jordan is very family friendly and an overall great place to live.
