South Elgin is a wonderful town for families. There are so many parks and outdoor activities to take part in in the spring/summer/fall. Even in the winter there are many family activities to do. Crime is very low, and the schools are great. There are many options of places to live, from the subdivisions, to the river front property, to the western farm lands; there is a place for everyone. For those with out families, South Elgin is a quiet town with near by night life and activities for adults as well!

Very clean, and surrounded by friendly faces! The grass and tending is done quickly and efficiently. Probably the best town I’ve lived in.
South Elgin is an adequate place to live. I have resided in this town for all of my 17 years of life and I cannot complain about my experience here. The people in my neighborhood are very friendly and the school I attend has a good education system. There are plenty of things to do, places to go and eat and much more. There is never a dull moment in South Elgin because our town likes to have our whole community get involved and has events for almost every holiday for people to attend. I would most definitely recommend other families or couples to come and live here.
