Somers is the town I have grown up in. It is a safe and family oriented town. With pride in our high school the town revolves around the school district. The town is mostly private neighborhoods and not a lot of low income housing available. Also commercial stores are not allowed in the town to help continue family owned businesses. The night life isn't much, there is no worry of adults or kids causing problems around the town. Somers is a safe and quiet town other than the Friday night football games. Great place to raise a family.

Somers is a great, family-oriented, and friendly place to live. Everything you’d need is not very far at all. I feel very safe and happy day to day here, and overall I am glad to reside here!
The community is friendly, and the academic chances are amazing, but the community is not always safe. I have heard of multiple murders in the past although nothing recent. It is a mostly white population, and there is no nightlife population since it is a family town. It is no longer a small town, now at about 21,000+ people living here, but you will see familiar faces everywhere. There is somewhat of a drug problem, even in the middle school.
