Sodus is a small town in Upstate New York that is known for its snowy winters and humid summers. It's also known for its proximity to Lake Ontario and it recently celebrated its bicentennial. It is home to a primary, intermediate and combined Jr./Sr. High School with an indoor pool and soccer fields. In town, there is a CVS, a few different Dollar Stores (Dollar General and Family General) and the neighborhood grocery store, Patton's. During the summer, this is also a Farmer's Market on Wednesday afternoons in the parking lot of the Methodist Church. Local farmers bring their goodies to sell and the local Mexican restaurant El Rincon is available for on-the-spot tacos, burritos and quesadillas.
What I like about Sodus, is that it is a town where you will come to know just about everyone. There will not be many times where you see someone and are like, "oh, who is that." So I feel like the closeness is there with your neighbors. What I would like to see change in Sodus, is the variety of stores and restaurants. There are only a few different stores in the town and very few places to go and eat.
Small town, nice outside of the town. Inside town was a bit sketchy but I lived outside of town so I didn't have to deal with that much. Not many places in town to go, only Paton's Marketplace and El Rincon. Sodus Point is a lot nicer.
