I love this town. If there is one small disaster, everyone jumps in to help. You'll find so many homemade foods to eat, you may not finish them all! They are very religious, but no one will push you. The town itself is beautiful and growing. Though the schools have nothing awe-striking, it is well run and have good, likable teachers. Your bound to find friends and happiness here!
We love living in snowflake. We came from the Phx area, and never want to go back to living in a big city. We came for affordable land, and a place where our kids could explore without worrying about too much crime. Summer time is very patriotic and gives all the small town feels. We love it!
I have lived in Snowflake for about 4 years now, from Phoenix. The thing about this area is if you have connections here then you can get away with anything. There is a fairly large meth problem here that is overlooked. A lot a break-ins . If you aren't "IN" with the Mormons then your small business is screwed. I have seen them very hypocritical to many of my retired friends. All of them retired law enforcement and military. If your feel you are being followed then you probably are. A strange weird place to live but you can be as isolated or as social as you want. Not too many places for healthcare or a good mechanic. I was fortunate to have extended family here to help me out with advice. Better have your finances and ducks in order, or you with find your Honeymoon with this town will end very quickly. Normal living here is decent. If you have big dreams about a chunk of raw land.... be realistic.... many half built abandoned places here. All is not what it seems here.
