Working in Smyrna
My experience in Smyrna DE, has been extremely drastic. Moving from an urban area to a real area has been extremely different for me. The town is beyond small, and doe snot have many useful resources for the residents that do live in the area. Finding efficient food markets, family activities and just having a way of life has been challenging. The commute to one place to another is extremely far, and job opportunities are extremely poor.
Smyrna is a friendly neighborhood. My concern is there are no sidewalks for children to play. Only driveways and in the street. Luckily, there are little to no cars driving around all hours of the day so it is safe to allow children to ride their bike. The area is dark at night from lack of street lights. Best for driving since public transportation is very limited.
I've been living in Smyrna for eight months. There's not much good restaurants in the area. Sometimes my apartment complex can be a little noisy with children running around and the adults blasting music at night. I mainly just greet neighbors and keep to myself. I just work all day to support myself and my child and go to school. I would like to see change is popular restaurants in the area because with a long day of work, sometimes you just want to eat out and not cook. Plus I love to eat! I would also like to see change is having a big park in the area so the children can play there instead playing around peoples cars making loud noise.
