Smithtown is a great place to raise a family. The school system is very good, but like all public schools it cold be better. There are lots of great weekend activities close by for kids and adults alike. Main Street at night is as safe as it is during the day, with lots of great restaurants to go spend some time with friends. Renting an apartment or home is just about as much as an average mortgage payment per month, so I would recommend buying rather than renting. However like most Long Island towns the property taxes are pretty high, but it's a great place to live overall.

I like that we have many different options for good food. Some of which include American Roadside, multiple different sushi places, Luso's, Vitality Bowl, Manino's, Salsa Salsa, Tropical Smoothie, Hotoke, Javier's Cafe and Yogurtini.
Smithtown is a great town with friendly people, an abundance of shopping and employment opportunities, restaurants galore, reputable hospitals nearby and all the medical specialists one could ask for.
