Smithfield seems a bit like any other average small town. We have one mall, some restaurants, a park. It's a bit out of a movie. That being said, there is absolutely nothing to do here except drive around and maybe wander inside the local Target. However, we are only a 15 minute drive from Providence and a 45 minute drive to the beach (which is actually quite a haul for Rhode Islanders). The people are kind enough but there is little to no diversity. The schools are predominately white and there's a more than likely chance you will run into some very close minded people. A good majority of the population has lived here their entire lives! Overall, it's a very family-friendly, cozy town but it has its flaws as every place does.

Smithfield is a great place for people who enjoy small towns and getting close with their neighbors. There's pretty much always something to do, from going to Deerfield Park for a nice jog, or heading to the Smithfield Crossings to do some shopping. The people in town are nice to be around, with most of the population ranging in their later adult years. There is also a lot for children of all ages to do, with parks, playgrounds, and multiple areas for different sports to be played all around town.
Smithfield is a clean, friendly, and quiet town. Approximately 3 miles from a huge outdoor mall. As well as, family-owned operated farms. Amazing school systems from pre-k up to college.
