I love the people. Everyone is friendly and willing to do anything for their neighbors. There are also great places to eat around Slater, even though it is small. People come to Slater just for the barbecue place on the corner.

I have lived in Slater for ten years now and it is very quiet and safe. The location between Ames and Ankeny gives a wide variety of places to shop and eat other than the small-town grocery store and very few restaurants.
