- Town in Texas

My family is from here, so I lived here for many years before escaping to the city, which is Dallas. If I'd had know them what I know now, I would've stayed and dealt with the slow small time and sometimes backwards boredom instead of falsely believing the city would solve all those problems. Of course, this place has the same problems endemic to all small towns, but when it comes to safety, traffic, and less stress, I'd gladly trade places in a heartbeat. Y'all can keep your road rage, smog, gunshots, under cover racism, traffic jams, speed racing, high cost of living, and cramped spaces all you want. Give me a simpler life.
Silsbee is a town full of really great people, but the economy is dwindling. The local theater closed down not long ago, and the downtown area is in need of restoration. The schools have some really great programs, but are in need of more teachers. The high school has lots of sports and college-prep classes, but not that many advanced placement courses for advanced students.
Small town where almost everyone knows everyone . Very accessible to the bigger and smaller towns . Family friendly town , great supports of the local school team!
Small town, family oriented, and everyone knows everyone even if your not related. A safe place to raise your kiddos. Our schools offers many beneficial programs. Love my small town!!
Overall it is a decent place to raise a family. The public school system could use some work. Silsbee is a fairly safe place to live. I have lived here my entire life and would recommend this town as a greater started place for any family.
I've lived here for the majority of my life. Silsbee is an AMAZING small town with a few thousand of the finest people I've ever come across. Over the years, I've personally witnessed the upgrading of Silsbee ISD's education centers. They've also added a local Boys and Girls Club for after school activities. It's amazing how the people of Silsbee come together as family in order to lift the local youth up in support. Local businesses gladly make donations to fund school supplies, as well as offer jobs to older students assist in their gaining of independence and responsibilities. Silsbee also had some pretty cool traditions, such as Trunk or Treating for Halloween, and Cruisin' Silsbee, where everyone displays their souped up cars at a small, fair-like event. Overall, Silsbee is one of the best places to live if you enjoy small towns with quiet nights.
Silsbee is a quiet country town. Everyone helps when needed and it is a tight knit community. Silsbee is a big football town, home of the tigers.
Silsbee is a small east Texas town. The schools are some of the best in the state. I enjoy living there.
Silsbee is a small town so it's family friendly, although there isnt much to do here. Many fun activities are local yes, but it's not much. I'd like to see Silsbee expand in their festivities and fast food places and restaurants. The school are decent. The food is disgusting, the halls are never cleaned, there are fights everyday, many of the schools are run down in some parts, but there are many things that are great about Silsbee education.
I don't see any changes in the future but I would come back later in life because it's a good place to raise their kids and everybody knowseverybody
I guess they are okay. Not superb and not under quality.
There aren't many jobs? Food and working at Walmart. That's it.
Mexican food is prevalent in the area. Well, Tex-Mex, and it is very delicious.
