Short Pump had good schools but lacked diversity in the neighborhood. It's centrally located to a lot of great restaurants and there's always something to do.
Overall a great place to raise kids, if you can afford the high cost of living and keeping up the with Joneses. HOA's are a bit over the top. In general I have found that neighbors have not been welcoming of newcomers. It's not uncommon to be asked which local high school you attended during an initial conversation.
Short Pump is a great place to live. Lots of fun activities. Great Weather, great schools. Short Pump also has lots of great shopping centers where you can go and spend the day shopping with the family.
Short Pump is friendly and a beautiful area to live in. It’s a peaceful and safe town to start a family and make friends. There are great quality schools from elementary to high schools. In addition, Short Pump is a lively community filled with a mixture of enjoyable activities, distinguished restaurants, and well-known stores. Most, if not all, neighborhoods are very family-friendly and have extremely low crime rates. If I had to name one flaw of the town it would be the lack of diversity; its, not the best place for meeting a variety of people and witnessing different aspects of life. However, Richmond City is only about a 20-minute drive from Short Pump, and the city is a growing area with an abundance of diversity. Overall, I enjoy living in Short Pump and there is never a dull moment.
Short Pump is an upscale area with quality public schools. It is increasing its pedestrian friendliness and access to public transportation, but is still lacking in this department. There are great parks, public libraries, and family friendly events in the area. An assortment of national chains and locally-owned restaurants and stores are nearby. Short Pump Town Center is regional shopping destination. Short Pump is convenient to three major highways-- rt 288, rt 295, and I-64.
It's a nice place to live and raise a family. The area is growing very fast and the traffic can be an issue at certain times of the day. The schools are highly regarded. The availability of youth sports is great for all abilities, from top notch athletes to your kids that are just learning to play sports.
I have lived in Short Pump nearly all my life and it is fantastic. The schools have rigorous academics and wonderful teachers. There are plenty of things to do within a five minute drive and it is very convenient.
Short Pump is a lively area with an assortment of exciting activities, restaurants, and stores. It is a beautiful and clean area, but can get quite packed with traffic at times. Overall, a great place to live if you want a vibrant and relaxing area.
I have lived in Short Pump most of my life. I have seen it when it was nothing and now to see what it has turned into is just amazing. There is so much to do here and everything is easy to get to and very convenint as well.
Excellent area to live with great schools. There are plenty of great, friendly, low-crime neighborhoods around the area. There is also a giant mall and plenty of other fun activities to do in the area.
My experience with Short Pump town-center is a good one. Their stores and restaurants are a good selection to chose from with reasonable prices for the consumer community. Their restaurants are very reasonable as well when it comes to accommodating to allergies and food contamination. The stores are very well kept and on point when following trends and find them isn't hard. I like the ease of finding where I want to go to shop or eat quickly with their layout and organization.
Short Pump can be filled with some stuck up people, however for the most part the people are nice. There are so many things to do around the town, you'll never be bored.
Nice safe suburb of Richmond. Lots of shops that everyone in the area comes too. 15 minutes from Richmond.
I have grown up in short pump my entire life. You have everything that you could ever want within a five minute drive of your home. The school systems are great, the quality of life is great, and there is never a boring moment within the community.
I lived in Short Pump for over a year. It's a great community with many things to do. Great area for running, eating, and shopping. Anything you want Short Pump probably has it. It's a safe and friendly area to visit and live in, the only downfall is the rush hour traffic, if you can handle traffic I would recommend visiting or living in this area.
I don't feel very qualified to speak about crime and safety since I truly have very little knowledge about crime in the area. I don't see police officers very often, and I don't understand much about the prevalence of crime (I'm a bit sheltered). I definitely feel safe in my neighborhood and I have never experienced anything that would cause concern for me.
Overall, I've had a pretty great experience in this neighborhood. I've lived in the Richmond area for almost my whole life, and while I just recently moved into this neighborhood, it was very easy to adjust and feel comfortable. The atmosphere is positive and the neighborhood is peaceful. I wouldn't consider the area to be incredibly special (a standard suburb community), but there are definitely things for everyone to find joy in. I am very happy to have settled in this home and if I could do it over again, the only thing I would do is move in earlier!
