Has a beautiful waterfront park. Lots of after school facilities for kids. Lots of shopping places along Dixie.
I was born in this town, and I've lived here my entire life, and in my opinion, this seems like a very nice place to live. There isn't a ton of violence or criminal activity, and we have a nice little park and public library.
Sure rent is cheap but I've only been here for 4 months and my husband has almost been robbed by a drug addict, had to threaten her with a knife. We've been asked if we've had money and or drugs by random people we've also been asked if we would like to buy any. Thefts are a regular at all the stores around here, trash everywhere you walk and not a quite side of town. I will be out of here when my year lease is up going to Middletown or anywhere else's but a side of town like this. Do not move here if you can help it and especially if you have children.
I like that we have friendly neighbors and a safe neighborhood in Shively. I also love that we have many resources in our community. My school is also nearby me as well. Some things we can change around this community is the sewage drainage. Sometimes when it rains it floods really bad.
Shively is a nice neighborhood. There is diversity between individuals racially and financially. I find that when looking for housing there are nice houses for a great price.
Shively is a very diverse neighborhood. It is filled with great people who love to be around and help each other. When I first moved in to the Shively area, I met a lot of new friends in my neighborhood and at the schools in Shively. Everyone in Shively mainly has good relationships with others and has good safety with the Shively police department being right next to Shively Park and in the middle of Shively. Also, Shively is a very affordable neighborhood for any and all different types of people. One more thing about Shively is that it has a variety of job opportunities at almost every corner in the Shively neighborhood. The only thing I would like to see change about the neighborhood is hosting more community events for children to be involved.
I like this area a lot. It's an old area of louisville with small family homes with a couple schools located in the neighborhood. Everyone is really friendly and very safe. Wish there were more local areas for younger adults to hang out after work or on the weekends.
Lately there has been a lot of crime and drugs. I would like to see this decrease significantly. I think that you there is not enough opportunities for the youth, which leave them open the o make mistakes.
i like how it has a lot of things like stores and doctors all in one area. needs sidewalks on both sides of the road
The Shively police are hardworking and respond quickly. There are definitely less crimes here than there used to be, but the crime rate still should be reduced.
I've lived in this area my whole life, so I've grown to like it. I probably won't live in this area when I buy my own home, but it would be nice as a place to buy a starter home.
It is okay, crime has picked up a little and I would have liked to have more things to do and more stores available.
house recently sold on my street
very lucky to be in this neighborhood
everyone in the neighborhood watch each other on the street
as the season changes, severe thunderstorm with flooding becoming an issue
