Working in Shelton
Shelton is a beautiful city in Fairfield County, CT. I really enjoy all the land preserves and land trusts. Since there is all this land that is open theres plenty to do outdoors. For example, The Shelton Greenway is over 450 acres of land for hiking theres lakes & ponds for fishing, boating, kayaking and water sports. There are also beautiful farms and lots of wildlife. There are also 2 libraries, a Senior Center and a community center that offers several different programs and a pool! There are also several different resturants and many places to shop.
Shelton in Connecticut is the best city. I enjoy the low taxes as well as the great schools that go hand in hand. The schools have truly caring and well educated teachers. Shelton also has a few great Volunteer Fire Companies, as well as quick police response time, safety, affordability, and diversity. I enjoy volunteering at the Schools and Fire house. It has a great Community Center. In the downtown area there are some fun restaurants and bars, I recommend the fries and sauce at Bar 140 on Center Street. It is the best city I've ever been too! I love Shelton and wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
While Shelton may not be particulary famous or renowned, the town itself holds much potential with growing business and its increasing population. It's prime location puts it only 10 minutes away from either Bridgeport or New Haven, as well as being a nice stop along Route 8 or Merritt Parkway. It's downtown section is mostly quiet, but can become bustling with fun during street events or festivals down at the River Green. While others may consider Shelton unexciting, I find the town's uneventfulness appealing. You're able to both enjoy the quietness of the town, while be within reach of other more busy towns.
