I have been living in Sharpsville for all my life, and I am seventeen. There is quite a bit to do here even though we are a small town. My favorite activities are walking on trails and going boating. It is very convenient that the Shenango River Lake is only five minuets away from my house. This allows me and my family to take out the boat with lots of friends in the summer, and spend hot summer days on the lake. I enjoy being next to many other towns as well, I think its cool that we have four high schools within a ten mile radius. I would like us to have more places to hangout in Sharpsville, me and my friends go to the Shenango River Lake a lot and just sit by the water. Overall I have loved living here and I am thankful for living in a small caring community.
It's not a terrible place to grow up as a white, middle-class person, but if you're a minority, or have known what it's like to live somewhere more open-minded, then Sharpsville would feel much worse. It's tough to find a job, you have to travel to the next town over to find a grocery store, and most adults are very conservative. Pick Hermitage. Or Sharon.
Sharpsville is a close-knit, safe, quaint community with a low cost of living. The community borders Buhl Park, offering residents a wonderful outdoor experience. The public school system is solid with small class sizes. A needed improvement, however, would be in the nightlife category. Part of this issue is also amplified by the aging population.
