Shaker Heights Reviews
Rating 4.12 out of 5 93 reviews
Shaker is one of the most gorgeous suburbs in the country, I can’t even believe I got to grow up here. Its an incredibly diverse community, and Shaker's whole thing is its history of diversity, schools, and pride in architecture and our unique urban design. We were one of the first planned communities in the US, and designed by the Van Sweringen brothers (Terminal Tower) TO be connected to downtown via light rail, which we are, the RTA has trains running between Van Aken AND Shaker Boulevard every day, that you get to yourself often. But going to Shaker public schools, at least for me, is something I’m so grateful for, people in Shaker are educated to a fault. I think Shaker people are some of the most fascinating, open-minded, ambitious people I’ve met anywhere, and our schools/community can be thanked for that, we all learn instruments, languages, deep, developed history, my AP classes were harder than most college courses I’ve taken. And I learned a lot. Shaker is basically heaven.
Great place to live! Great home values. Great schools. Excellent police force. Everyone is approachable and helpful. Being able to go downtown by train makes this urban suburb very unique. I can go to ballgames, concerts and museums by bus, train or walking. There are plenary of places to eat, all within in walking distance. New area shopping makes getting a cup of Joe easy too!
I’ve lived in shake heights for mostly all my childhood. I attended Woodbury, the middle school and grayed from shaker high school in 2019. I enjoyed my schooling through the years I believe the school district is top rated in the country. There are many opportunities and activities to dive into. Also a very diverse environment
