So I will give you an honest review. I am a Colombian Latino, have lived in SP now for 6 years, with kids in schools, two have gone on to Harvard, and one to Johns Hopkins, we are not rich by any means, work locally, and have integrated well into the town. I used to live in the western area of baltimore, so I have seen and lived in what is crime infested and terrible quality schools, to now severna park which is safe, and has incredible schools.
All of these reviews that beat on some notion of a racist town, where no one has character, is just unfounded, and perhaps written by individuals that have some form of mental disorder where they think if they are a minority or do not make the relative income of the area, then its a terrible place with bad morals. I can tell you first hand, where I lived in baltimore was more classist and racist, than severna park will ever be in the foreseeable future.
Severna Park is a welcoming place, with good restaurants, and a healthy lifestyle.

I grew up here, moved around the country as a Navy wife. When we retired from the Navy we knew this is where we wanted to finish raising our 4 children! Now our grandsons also call Severna Park home. We can speak highly of St. John the Evangelist School, Severna Park Elementary, Severna Park Middle School, Severna Park High School, Severn and Archbishop Spalding High school. All of us went to these schools one time or another!!!! There are great communities with great neighbors. You can find a home with community beach access and/or community pools. Lacrosse and swim teams are very popular here. That said, all the sports programs are wonderful and encourage team spirit!
After growing up in Glen Burnie, the transition to Severna Park was very extreme. People in Severna Park are very competitive, very intense, and very, very white. There is little to no diversity around here, and it especially shows in the ideals and language that some of these white/straight kids use on the daily. The education is of high quality, but the stress that comes of Severna Park High School is incredibly overbearing and the administration does not care about its students. The teachers are incredible, but Severna Park's administration isn't interested in students' well-being - only numbers and academic performance.
