Racists, homophobes, meth, liquor stores, and dispensaries. That’s it that’s all this dying town has to offer. Lived here for several years and can’t wait to leave. It’s a food desert so no fresh food ever for at least 20 miles away. The city council has no transparency and could care less about anybody but old rich white people. There are like 2 decent restaurants none that are really good. Also, we ran off the police chief last year because of an aclu investigation and lost a city worker to kiddy porn charges and everyone just shrugged it off. All in all this is hell on earth and I cannot wait to leave. Our mayor is an absolute stick in the mud and the city manager is the highest paid in the state...and he does very little. Lots of crime and drunk drivers all the time.
Small town, but close enough to more urban areas. Lots of diverse activities for students and a good sports program.
I've been a Seminolian now for 10 years. I would change the public schools here with a mental and generational update. Night life needs to improve for night lovers. Crime would go down, plus employment would go up if nights weren't dead around here, other then Walmart. People would care to live here if it wasn't stuck in old fashion ways. Development is happening but not the mentality to go along with it. People live here, but people aren't living here. They go somewhere else, work somewhere else or find it on social media. Revive this small town for the new world reality and you'll have people coming here, either to visit or move here.
We chose Seminole because of the warm and friendly community. The cost of living is very reasonable with enough amenities to serve the needs of families. We are happy to be part of this terrific community!
Very family friendly! Always something going on at the Wellness Center and the Schools. The City is a happening growing community that is very exciting to be a part of. New homes and businesses coming in and the future is very bright for this Cities future! Local State College that is fabulous and continues to grow at a rapid pace with new buildings and a new sports complex being built!
I would like to see more things to do. Seminole is good if you like small towns. Seminole State College is a good place to go and the family atmosphere here is lovely.
An Oil Boom town that at one time was the third most producing oilfield in the world. Currently the town is beginning to re-invent itself with many opportunities on the horizon! The people here are resilient and most noticeably, friendly. There are suprisingly many things in this town to keep oneself entertained. History museums, mansions, world class “children’s museum”, downtown district. Outdoor enthusiasts can surely find something to keep themselves engaged. A school system that has a long outstanding reputation for excellence! The kindergarten school “BLS” is the top reading school in the state for that age group. And Seminole is one of a handful of schools that individualize education for each student. Of course a school would not be complete if did not offer high performing athletics. The Chieftain Football team is known for its success. Opportunity can always be found in a community that is progressive in re-inventing itself.
All teachers & staff members @ Seminole Public Elementary Schools are very caring, helpful to the fullest extent of their capabilities!!!

Seminole is an amazing small city. There is no city in Oklahoma that has the amenities that Seminole has. For example: a fine college; excellent hospital,
one of Oklahoma's best 18 hole golf courses, one of America's largest children's museums with 70,000 annual visitors, Sportsmans Lake with the states best equestrian trails, great wellness center, an animal shelter that adopts out an average of 63 animals a month, oil museum, skate park, boomtown playground, water park, fine public schools with a new high school opening next year, 15 manufacturing plants, good shopping areas, and the nicest people you could find anywhere. And with all this, Seminole folks continue to strive to make Seminole bigger and better.

Seminole is a growing town. We have the Seminole State College, a 2 year junior College. For children, there is the Jasmine Moran Children's Center that many surrounding schools bring their students to visit. We have a newer skate park and in the summer there is the local pool, For the adults, we have the Golf Course and the new Bumpy Brick grill and bar. We are just 30 minutes from Shawnee, OK and an hour from Oklahoma City, OK.
Seminole is the largest town in the county, but still has that small town charm. The dining scene ranges from mom and pop diner to nation-wide chains.
My experience in Seminole, OK. has been incredible, because of the many opportunities that I've been given while here. For example, my first job at Don Ciros Mexican Restaurant taught me about the kind people in town. Another example would be attending Seminole State College here in Seminole, from there I was available to get my Aasociate's Degree in Child Development. I also was given the opportunity for a second job at the Reynolds Wellness Center as a child care giver. Seminole has done a lot for me to succeed in life. Something I would change about Seminole, would be the entertainment for college students, because there is not much to do here.
There are more robberies and drug busts than most areas of town. I would rather live in a higher priced area, but lack the income to do so. Oklahoma is in a depressed state because of the oil industry again collapsing, but the people are some of the finest I have met and we strive to survive in the face of adversity. If the oil field would diversify when the money is flowing then they would not be hit so hard when prices drop. We are a very rural state and maintain well when times get rough.
Where I live at in Oklahoma is considered the worst town to live in Oklahoma. We have a supportive community, but it all comes from the higher income people. Our school problem is pretty bad right now and we are currently having to attend school at a grocery store. This place has been much work, but it is slowly starting to improve over time.
plenty of grocery stores, hardware, and convenience stores, gas stations. Everything you need is here.
employment opportunities in this area is ok there aren't a whole lot. Mostly minimum wage and its hard to get by on that salary anywhere anymore. Most have families with multiple children and its hard to support them with low income. But also to consider is the amount of people that do not want to work and would rather do nothing and draw off the government or state.
