Selmer, TN is a very small town that struggles regarding many aspects. The primary problem is that people get caught up in day to day popularity contest of the small town that they never leave to better themselves whether that is education or employment. The students you go to 1st grade with are the same students you graduate middle school with are the same ones pregnant and on drugs before they’ve graduated high school.

Selmer is a very small minded town with very little diversity. Job opportunities are low and all the mayor wants is to make our town a retirement home. Many people don’t venture out of our counties boundaries to experience different ways of life.
Selmer is a quiet small town where people are friendly and the cost of living is low. There isn't much to do, but a variety of places to eat out at. I lived there for fifteen years and had to move away to finish college.
