I have lived in Selah, Washington my entire life, same with both of my parents. It's a very small town and there isn't a whole lot to do here. But that's one thing I love about Selah is that the community is very close and united. We celebrate an event called, "Selah Community Days" where we celebrate our city and come together for parades and a carnival. I always look forward to that weekend in May. I also love when it comes to high school sports the stadium or the gym is always packed with some of the biggest supporters! It's amazing how much everyone cares for our teams and supports us! Sadly there is a lot of drama when it comes to the governor and the mayor... that causes a lot of problems but most people just tend to mind their own business and move on with their lives. It's a pretty safe town which is also a huge bonus and all my family lives close by! Same with my friends.
I’ve lived hear since elementary school and from what I have experienced personally it feels a lot safer and it is a lot more family oriented then the previous town I lived in. There are also a lot of local businesses that I believe make the community more involved. Though there is a lack of diversity there are many different types of people who come from different types of home life and have different views, so I’d say there’s someone for about everyone. Selah is a place I am proud and happy to have grown up in and to be apart of.
Small town in Eastern Washington. Desert valley that gets all seasons weather. Tight knit community. Public Education is decent. Not perfect, but not the worst. Bad policies on bullying. Simple swat on the hand or act like it didn't happen to keep ratings up. Local burger restaurant called King's row serves excellent food. Two supermarkets in town. About six mini marts in town. High property value. Tree Top HQ is located here. Agricultural base economy with fresh fruit being harvested and processed every year. Short distance from two colleges in Yakima. Yakima Valley College and Perry Technical Institute.
