Current Resident: Kasson is a tight-knit community that frequently comes together for public events. It hosts an annual "Festival in the Park," which features a belly flop contest, a live band, food trucks, handmade goods, and fireworks. The community has a strong support for its school district and truly does care about its kids, sports and academics-wise. I haven't felt particularly unsafe in Kasson. Word of recent happenings gets around very quickly by word of mouth, and everyone is generally familiar with prominent figures in the community as well as the city's buildings. Most people in Kasson have been there for a long time. Kids are always going out to play with neighboring kids, people are always on walks or jogs, and in nice weather practically everyone emerges from their houses to tend to the lawn, walk, or play. The people are a very midwestern type of friendly. Most shopping and employment is found in Byron and Rochester, but Kasson is a welcoming home base.... Read 13 reviews
