Suburb of Dallas, TX
Current Resident: I have lived in N. Texas for almost two decades and five of those years have been in Coppell. Coppell is a very diverse, forward thinking, safe and comfortable town in the middle of the DFW metroplex. Because of its location, we are close to major airports, sporting events, concerts, lakes, and fantastic cultural venues/events. Our parks in Coppell are very well maintained with several miles of great walking/biking paths. The City of Coppell does a fantastic job of providing excellent customer service, hospitality, and amenities to the citizens. I echo many of comments here about the school district...it is excellent! If you are looking for a place to call home with an engaging community that is ideal for raising a family...look no further, Coppell, Texas is the right place!... Read 227 reviews

Current Resident: University Park is the perfect mix. It is affluent, but not as flashy and gaudy as Highland Park. It is very safe at all hours. It is super close to Uptown and extremely easy to access all parts of Dallas in under 20 minutes even in traffic. One of my favourite parts is that it actually has a “pulse”. I used to live in Bluffview where you don’t know if your neighbours are alive or dead. It felt scarily quiet, and I didn’t know anybody there. UP will have people walking their dogs, parties, and other events always. Also it has great shopping and restaurants.... Read 23 reviews

Current Resident: I have lived here a little over a year and it has been amazing. My family and I moved from Southern California and it's been a great decision. We have made quick friends with several families in our neighborhood and the people couldnt be nicer. School system is top notch and very organized. Far better than what I could have expected in our neighborhood in California. Sports are big here from Kindergarten all the way through high school and its pretty amazing the level of community support they get. I will say its a bit of a bubble community but if you can get in the bubble I think you would like it there!... Read 114 reviews

Current Resident: Frisco, Texas has been a home to me since I was three years old. As an American-Muslim, and Pakistani-American, it has always been hard to find people who are of the same religion and ethnicity as me. When my family and I came to Frisco we were able to find a welcoming Muslim community from which we could find friends and learn. The South Asian community is also large, and because of this, my family has been able to create life long friendships with these families. Frisco has nice schools as well, and acts as an overall safe environment to raise a family. If you are looking for diversity and a fruitful city to live in, I suggest Frisco, Texas! My experience in this city as a teenager has been amazing.... Read 702 reviews

Current Resident: The community is generally very welcoming and kind. The town itself is pretty with a good amount of green spaces and trees. There are plenty of parks with beautiful trails within walking distance of my house. Many parks have multiple playgrounds very suitable and safe for children. Many parks also have public basketball and tenis courts. There are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets within a comfortable distance from home. The roads throughout the town are very large; however, even with this traffic can still be heavy. Flower Mound is not super pedestrian friendly with crosswalks being few and far between, but the sidewalks are generally very nice. Overall, Flower Mound is a great place to live, but there is always room for improvement.... Read 322 reviews

Current Resident: Moving from a smaller town in the midwest, to Plano, Texas has been one of the best decisions that I've made so far. The people here in Plano are so diverse, and so hospitable! I've encountered so many people in public who have been so warm and welcoming; it's honestly a culture shock. I would also say that, overall, the city of Plano is fairly clean and safe. In the previous town that I lived in, potholes were rampant, and the roads needed servicing. As mind-boggling as this may sound, I have not encountered a pothole yet (my car thanks me)! Living in Texas has been quite the joy, and there's an abundance of amazing towns and cities; however, Plano has it's own je ne sais quoi that makes it stand out. Plano truly is a city for everyone!... Read 931 reviews

The town itself has a newer commercial mixed-use development that is very convenient. During my time at the high school, I've had an amazing learning experience. The teachers constantly work with me, no matter how many days I show up for tutoring. In addition, I was pushed to reach my full potential and feel deeply prepared for college. In addition, each of the programs thrive. The students put in full amounts of effort to succeed. Current Resident: I have lived in Mckinney for about 12 years now. Everything is relatively close to each other. Compared to the city, McKinney has clean streets, good roads, and plenty of walking trails. The people here are much friendlier too! McKinney is relatively a safe place to live. Of course, in my household we lock our cars and our house before we leave. However, as a young woman I feel comfortable talking a walk outside or going to the mall by myself. I actually think I enjoyed going to school in McKinney. I had many great teachers that have taught me more than just passing an exam and along the way I’ve made lifelong friendships. The only disadvantage is that during the summer, especially in July and August it gets pretty hot here. According to my research, our temperatures can go as high as 106 degrees Fahrenheit. However, when the weather is nice like most days there are many dog parks for outdoor activities, playgrounds for children, strip malls, and cinemas around the area!... Read 710 reviews

Parent: We love MLCA! We pulled out of public school after the 4th grade and have been at MLCA for 2 years. I cannot stress how much this school has done for my child and our family! The staff is wonderful. They are responsive and actually ensure the class, the whole class is on the same page when learning new concepts before moving on! My girl loves the opportunity to learn the violin and botany! I cannot adequately express the change in my girl! She has gone from shy loner who was teased (bullied) in public school to making wonderful friends and playing on the soccer, volleyball and basketball team! She loves having chapel buddies and helping the little ones, she has gained so much confidence! MLCA is so much more than a school. Parent: My family has been a part of StoneGate Christian for 18 years - three children graduated and one to go! My older children went to college. They both shared how they realized they were educationally prepared when they entered college. My 3rd child tested so high for joining the military, he had his pick of career. My 4th child is excelling in his academics. StoneGate has always focused on the foundational basics of subjects, creating a firm educational foundation. StoneGate having a smaller enrollment, students are able to participate in as many extracurriculars as they desire. Once again, an advantage for a wide experience of music, drama, and sports. Teachers, staff, and students know each other - strengths and weaknesses - and work together. Upper grade-levels and lower grade-levels know each other by name. Teachers and staff are easily accessible for parents - working together for the well-being of the school and students. And above all, StoneGate is Christ-centered!... Read 15 reviews
