Current Resident: Garden Ridge is a large community with an extremely low crime rate. Most of the residents consist of older veterans and large families that are quite well-off, and many are conservatives. Many of the people are friendly and hospitable. The library is modest with a nice selection of books and community events tend to be large and occasional. A quiet, cozy atmosphere exists throughout, and it is sometimes interrupted by gunshots from the shooting range nearby. Current Resident: This is such a family friendly neighborhood. You can't beat the schools (Hidden Forest, Bradley, Churchill) and teachers. We have a brand new community center and pool with a basketball court, sand volleyball court, tennis courts, walking path, and exercise equipment. We have several community events around the holidays and otherwise. We have a fun summer swim team that connects many families. Nearby Resident: Lot's of small businesses in this area. The parks within this neighborhood are beautiful. Lot's of different options to choose from when considering a place to go eat at. Schools could use some more attention. There is not much diversity when it comes to the homeowners found in the neighborhood of Windcrest. Lot's of elderly, white people. Neighborhood is very quiet and well maintained. Windcrest does have a prominent tie in with the surrounding community. It is known for their Christmas lights event during the holidays. It partners with small businesses and others to promote the event and communicate with residents of San Antonio. It get's quite lively during those timeframes. While I am not a direct resident with Windcrest, I always refer to living around that area as most people know it's reputation. Current Resident: We moved here in 2009 after being stationed at Lackland. I did extensive research on safety and schools. We made the long commute to Lackland for work from Cibolo for quality of life and it was the best decision we've ever made. We absolutely love our neighborhood. I got divorced in 2013 and my neighbors, knowing that I was now a single mother, have been wonderful. I love how safe my children and I feel here. The town is growing quickly and traffic is a nightmare on 35 as I work in the city BUT it is by far worth it for the peace of mind and quality of life that Cibolo provides. Lovely parks, plenty of community events, very family friendly. The police are exceptional in this community and do well to keep us all safe. Current Resident: I’ve lived in Helotes all my life, meaning I’ve seen the development of the area throughout the years. What used to be dirt roads are now major paths for transport. This is great because the city has maintained its cozy environment but residents have more access to everyday necessities. That being said, these changes came with bad traffic! One of my favorite spots to experience the culture is Old Town Helotes. There’s the cutest little bakeries and antique stores that are great for something fun to do on the weekend. They even opened a small art gallery there! They are also opening more of a variety of restaurants, including Pho An, a Vietnamese restaurant. In terms of the actual safety in my town, the police are always monitoring the neighborhoods which may or may not be a plus in your eyes, but it does make me feel safe and the schools are monitored by police as well.... Current Resident: I have been living in Schertz for about 12 years now, and would recommend it for any family living on the Northeast side of San Antonio. It is right in the midst of "the Forum" which is full of local shopping centers and restaurants including; Target, Ross, Bed Bath & Beyond, Chili's, Chipoltle, Chick Fil A, Macoroni Grill, Kohl's, Gamestop, and many others. There, of course, in convenient location an HEB and a few other restaurants. Crime rates are extremely low in this area and there are plenty of schools ranging from daycare, to middle school, even to high schools. Current Resident: We moved to Boerne two years ago when my husband was medically retired from the Marines with our three young children. We were cautioned by our realtor that Boerne was “old money” and “snooty” but we haven’t found that to be the case at all. We found a beautiful neighborhood that is 2,000 ft above sea level with gorgeous views and built a home we love. We have become the best of friends with many of the other families in our neighborhood and hang out regularly. Our kiddos are excelling at their elementary school and the ratio of students to teachers are about 17 to 1 at our school which we found was perfect. We are a Christian/Conservative family with America First views and we really seem to be the majority here which is nice to see. There are an abundance of churches in Boerne so you’re sure to find one that will fit your needs. If you’re looking for a place with nightlife and a lot of restaurants open on Sundays, Boerne probably isn’t for you though.... Read 94 reviews

Current Resident: Since I was in Fifth grade my family decided to take the journey on living in Bulverde Texas. With my family being in the military I never thought that I would stay as long as I did. I am a Senior at Memorial Early college High school and still enjoy everyday waking up in my bed looking outside of the beautiful trees. Bulverde Texas is by far the most beautiful places to live. Everyone is a good amount of distance of each other and close enough to go walk and say hi to our friendly neighbors. What is even great is that there is a police station near by to keep us safe. There is a hatch five, a winery, burger joint, and a Italian restaurant in walking distance which is so much fun! What I enjoy the most is that we all come as a community and have festivals during holidays and drive in at our Bulverde Park for people to come and enjoy moments together as a community!... I been going to castroville for years. I fantasize about getting married and having a good family there. Falling in love in San Antonio Texas was just not my style and I feel uncomfortable to live here. If I lived in castroville texas, my life would blossom into something more interesting. Current Resident: Hill Country Village is actually its own city within San Antonio, TX. Due to San Antonio's expansion north, the city of Hill Country Village and the town of Hollywood Park have become known as neighborhoods. Living in Hill Country Village is like living in the country, but in the middle of San Antonio. The lots are anywhere from 2-40+ acres. Many residents own livestock and it isn't uncommon to see people riding horses on the side of the road. Hill Country Village is a part of the NEISD school system that repeatedly receives accolades and has test scores above the district average. Even though it feels like you're miles from the city, US Highway 281 is no more than 5 minutes away from anywhere in Hill Country Village.
