Parent: Both of our kids started at The New School in ninth grade, after eight years of public school. It was one of the best parenting decisions we've ever made. Everything about this school is terrific. The teachers are passionate, inspired, and inspiring. Small, topics-driven, seminar-style classes foster creativity and independent thinking, while the welcoming atmosphere makes everyone feel at home. Our two kids turned out to be very different kinds of learners, but both thrived at The New School. Our youngest graduates next year, and we'll be sad to think of not having that day-to-day connection. Can't say enough about this wonderful school!... Read 27 reviews

Current Resident: I love Clemson thanks to the friends I have made, networking I've established, and the experiences I've been lucky enough to have. The only reason I rate it 4/5 stars is because of two reasons: 1) traffic on the main road (Tiger Blvd) is always awful - what should be a 5 minute drive is actually a 15 minute drive thanks to stop and go traffic. 2) The college I attend (Clemson University) is outrageously expensive, and Summer courses are no exception. I will be paying $12,000 for 15 credit hours over the summer just so I can graduate in August. This is $3,000-$4,000 MORE than a normal fall/spring semester which is ridiculous. They are shorter courses, so I should really be paying less. That is why I need this scholarship, I cannot afford this last semester on my own and I have to pay my bill by May 11th.... Current Resident: Pendleton is a wonderful place to live. It is full of history, past and present. John C. Calhoun's wife visited several plantations in her lifetime via horse and buggy driven by Jack Washington (Daddy Jack) who was not only her driver but a fiddler who grew up on the Calhoun Plantation as a slave and later lived there until he married Ada Arial who lived on Woodburn Plantation. They raised all their children there and my grandmother lived there after she married and had five children there. They moved into the city limits while she was pregnant with her sixth child who was born in the city limits of Pendleton. There are two historical plantations still available for the public to see for a small fee; Ashtabula Plantation and Woodburn Plantation. Fall Festival is coming to town and is being loaded with pumpkins and scarecrows everywhere.... Read 10 reviews

The neighborhood also has a pool and is close to schools in the area. Berkeley County overall is a good county to live in. Niche User: Enjoy the town very much, people are friendly and good natured and the kids say yes Sir/ Ma'am. Much more liberal and open minded than one would think for small town. Don't be shocked if you see LGBTQ and others stickers on shop doors and even pickup trucks. The drive to Spartanburg or Greenville not bad at all. Asheville NC just a hour up I26 and not to forget Tryon just 3 miles from uptown Landrum. Thank goodness we got a home early and rented it out, value has gone from 65k to 125k in 5 years. There are not many chain restaurants nearby, but there are a few hole in the wall places that are amazing to enjoy as well as small businesses. Crime is very low in this area and the Clover school system is amazing. Overall, if you are looking for somewhere to settle down with kids, Clover is great due to the safe neighborhoods and excellent schools that really value the kids they teach. Senior: Whitmore School is the best high school ever! The teachers are attentive and quick to reply. The information is presented in an engaging format. Courses are structured with the real world in mind. Counselors and teachers and genuinely engaged and always ready to help, chat, or explain something. They will make sure you understand everything completely. There are extracurriculars like the National Honor Society and the school newspaper. I also appreciated the help and advice given but support coaches and the college advisor. It is truly “anytime, anyplace.” You can work on mobile, at night, or in a different timezone.
