Nearby Resident: I love Irvine! I went to UCI for my bachelors degree and it was a beautiful area. There are many activities to do beyond campus life. My friends and I would ride our bikes in the park and then get food from the University Town center. Irvine became a second home for my friends and I. We would study all day and night in the library and then we would go to the movies in the town center. On the weekend, when we did not have much studying to do, we would go to university town center to interact with other college students. Irvine is not only a great place to raise a family, it is also one of the safest neighborhoods around the area. Additionally, because Irvine is a college town there are many job opportunities If I could, I would live in Irvine to pursue my future buying a house and raising children. To add the cost of living in Irvine is high and over the years has gone up; however, I believe that the cost of living is worth the amazing lifestyle one with achieve by living in Irvine.... Parent: My kids have been attending Basis since before the pandemic, and we are so impressed! Rich academic curriculum, good inclusion of the arts, excellent opportunity for differentiation based on student needs. The teachers are dedicated and so are the parents to the kids' success. While the administration has been bumpy as the school has gotten established (only 5 years old), they earned their stripes during the pandemic. Organized, safety-focused and diligent about communication. We supplement school with sports leagues and scouting outside of school, which many parents do. Easy to do given the extensive choice you have in the DC area. Also appreciate the international study body with impressively bright students from all over the world. A real meritocracy, unlike other private schools that admit based on VIP status or connections/donations. In the next few years, this school will only continue to advance its place in the rankings.... Read 52 reviews

Current Resident: I really like Rancho. It's a great place to have a home, people are friendly, and the area is super nice, visually and in other ways. The schools are pretty good, but they do have things like bullying, etc. that essentially all schools have. Safety wise, I think it's very safe, although the apartments near RSM are a little shady, so I would suggest living in one of the neighborhoods instead! Though keep in mind that homes are very expensive here. A single story, 3-bedroom home can be expected to cost around $800,000! But I think it's worth it :)... Read 184 reviews

The only thing the conservatives are hard nose older people but still good people. I love that the new owners coming in are a mix of people. Very safe place to live. Current Resident: Fountain Valley is one of the safest places I've ever lived. Everything is clean, the local laws are considerate, and the people are friendly. The community is very active with one another and everyone seems to know each other. The housing is relatively expensive, but it is worth it given the weather and how close it is to the beach. A wide variety of neighborhoods, from suburban style to gated and fancy. The schools for all ages are amazing, as I've had many extended family grow up and spend their K-12 years here, and even some that teach in the area. Overall, a great environment and a nice place to live.... Read 165 reviews

Current Resident: I moved to Mission Viejo 8 years ago and it's been great. We have a little bit of everything here - parks, restaurants, entertainment, and more! While not completely void of crime, I have never felt unsafe in this area and have never had any issues personally. Mission Viejo is a great place to come if you want to be close to both the mountains and the beach - you're within easy driving distance of both. The lake is a great feature during the summer and, closer to the holidays, you can experience the festive decor around town. This is a great place to have a family.... Read 307 reviews

Current Resident: I love being so close to the beach but away from the big cities. I especially love being so close to laguna beach which has GORGEOUS beaches! I also like that you are only 5 minutes away from the grocery store and it is also only 5 minutes away from Hidden Hills Elementary School and around 10 minutes from Niguel Hills Middle School. Dana Hills High School is only around 15 minutes at most away from the area so schooling is very close by. I also like the people in the town who are friendly and welcoming. I especially love all the nearby hikes and activities to do outside as well. Another benefit is the weather is always nice the coldest it get is like 55 degrees at night and the hottest temperatures can be 87 degrees in the summer time. It doesn't get too hot so an air conditioner is not necessary but a heater is recommended if you get cold easily in the winter nights. One downside is it quite pricey to live here and there is not really any night life.... Read 130 reviews

Current Resident: My friends who are locals took me here on a Sunday afternoon in mid-September. The weather was superlative--light breezes, warm but not scorching sunshine. Enough people to be interesting but not too much that we felt crowded. The marina was packed full of lovely, fully rigged sailboats for some kind of regatta, and we enjoyed ambling along the paths on the edge of it from one restaurant-shopping area to another. Overall, a more mellow vibe than the beach spots up north in north Orange County or LA county. Folks seem less uptight, less in a hurry, etc. And there's also the beach next door and water excursions for those seeking activity.Great place to go for summer heat relief. We loved to walk along the harbor boardwalk to look at the boats then stop in at a store or two, grab something the coffee stop or eat outside at one of the many restaurants. In exploring further, we drove to the north end. Although the sea museum was closed, we walked behind it to view the ocean, where kids we... Read 78 reviews

Current Resident: good weather and friendly neighborhood. Most importantly it is a very safe area both for society, and natural disasters such as tornados, earthquacks. Here the weather is the best for entire United States because we are very close to ocean and therefore very clean air, and yet because our ocean water is very cool coming from Alaska and therefore we are dry and not humid. Parent: The transformation of my daughter since she started kindergarten here has been nothing short of amazing. She thrives in this environment; the class sizes are smaller than public school, the teachers and staff really care, it is clean and safe. The academics are challenging and advanced, even in kindergarten! Learning about the bible and Christian teachings at this school has helped by praying at home, instilling a good moral compass while building on her already good character. We couldn't be happier!... Parent: CHA is like a second home to our family. In today’s culture, where many catholic institutions are diluted, CHA is one school with an unwavering commitment to providing an authentic catholic identity. This catholic identity is nurtured through a formation approach that focuses not just on the intellectual dimension but spiritual, human, and apostolic dimension to foster whole-person formation. Sadly, our education system disregards the spiritual dimension so necessary as the true formation of a whole person has to be rooted “in God.” It truly is a gift to have a chapel and daily celebration of the sacraments on campus. CHA also offers formation for parents to help them grow in their faith journey. CHA’s community, honestly speaking, is rare! It is loving, vibrant, supportive, and welcoming. The staff, teachers, and priests are all so dedicated. We are so grateful for the friendships we have made and the love and generosity we have received. We are so proud we belong to CHA!...
