Current Resident: I am biased admittedly, but I can not believe this hidden gem has not been discovered. The city is walkably two blocks away (and easily accessible by any mode of transportation), the schools are top 5 in the state, there's a private country club, private police force and, aesthetically, the village is very tasteful -- along the lines of an upscale town in Fairfield County. Nearby Resident: I go to school at Wheatley which is located in Old Westbury. I have had a great high school experience in Old Westbury. I feel safe in my school and it is not a crowded area because it is an overall wealthy location. The only things I would change is that there is not much to do around the area. The only way to have fun is leaving the town. Nevertheless, I still feel glad to grow up nearby and go to school here. I know my friends feel the same as me. We only wish that some of the kids didn't grow up to be snobby because they are living in such a wealthy town and think they can get away with anything. Current Resident: Malverne is a small suburb located in Long Island New York. The small size of the village allows for people to know most people living in the neighborhood. On Hempstead Avenue there are many restaurants and stores, so there is always access to food and somewhere to go with friends or family. The school district incorporates people from Malverne, West Hempstead, Lakeview, and Lynbrook, allowing different demographics of people an opportunity to expand their views and meet different people. Additionally, many events are held in this small town and the local government interacts with the community and maintains the village itself. The roads are smooth, the village is clean, the water quality is excellent, and the overall atmosphere of the town is great. The train station that runs right in the middle of the village, allows for convenient transportation to the city for those that work there, but may be a nuisance to those that don’t enjoy hearing a train pass every 15 minutes or so.... Current Resident: Port Washington is a town I grew up in. From Kindergarten to high school grad, I enjoyed my education through all the public schools. The school district was very open minded and liberal where kids were free to express themselves how they felt. I felt during my time at high school supported through the faculty and community. As a member of the community action council for many years, I would like to see the rent change. Rent in the area has been increasing a lot kicking friends and families of mine out of the lesser expensive communities. Former Resident: It is the greatest place to raise a family, socially connect, worship religiously, community minded, excellent dining, movies, bowling, parks and recreation, near the beach, highways and the LIRR to NYC. Beautiful homes. Good Medical care and hospital, hotels and close to the two major airports. Excellent schools and sports. It also has its own utilities. Now the downside, it's expensive, the homes mostly older requires alot of maintenance and repair, the taxes are very high and despite that, the roads are horrific with potholes and other issues. Regardless, if you can afford it, it's a wonderful town with highly intelligent, well educated and successful people. Current Resident: Floral Park is a small town located on Long Island, NY. The size of this towns creates a sense of unity among all citizens. This town has amazing schools, restaurants and other establishments that make it stand out from the rest. The public schools this town has continue to academically challenge the youth of this town. These schools also teach students how to be efficient and hardworking in and out of the classroom. Floral Park also has many diverse restaurants that accommodate for any dietary restrictions, allergies, religious beliefs etc. By doing this, it makes citizens of Floral Park feel very comfortable and supported by the community.
