Current Resident: I love living in Chelsea so much. Living in Chelsea is the best because it is in the center of the city for me! I live right between 34th Street and downtown Manhattan Soho. I would recommend anyone to live here if you always want to be outside to do things, such as activities, shopping, or even exploring the city. There are many activities to do such as going to the museum, parks, and gardens. Not just that there are many different types of food places in Chelsea. Foods from all over the world that you may want to try and explore the different tastes.... Read 85 reviews

Current Resident: Living in Morningside Heights is a breath of fresh air from the commotion of downtown and midtown NYC. The neighborhood is full of small businesses and is incredibly well kept and it feels as if though you're living in a bubble. The atmosphere is generally calm and family-friendly but also rich in diversity. Its main points of interest include the stunning St. John's cathedral, Columbia University, and my personal favorite the Hungarian Pastry Shop!... Read 40 reviews

Current Resident: I've lived the majority of my life in this neighborhood and overall, it is fantastic. I graduated from City and Country Middle School and am entering the Abraham Joshua Heschel High School. The Village is overwhelmingly liberal and there are many LGBTQ+ people living around because the LGBT Center is in the village. Sometimes walking past that area I feel uncomfortable because there are many homeless people living on that street. However, everything else is incredible. You can't live the same life uptown or even in midtown. Downtown in the meatpacking district is really the best.... Read 16 reviews

Current Resident: I have lived in this neighborhood since I was two and it has changed a lot over the years. I have loved living here throughout my childhood. As a child, I enjoyed going to Rockefeller Park, partaking in neighborhood activities such as art and sports, and walking along the Hudson River. Over the years more stores and nearby tourist attractions have appeared which has made it an exciting place to live. Some changes could include stringent rodent control and an increase of trash cans, to avoid trash ending up on the ground.... Read 10 reviews

Current Resident: It's a very certainly located neighborhood, you're close to midtown and downtown respectively. There's a vast variety of dining options as well as bar's, sometimes on the weekends the bar's can be annoying however. It can definitely be a friendly neighborhood with a "small town" feel to some extent, my local dry cleaner, deli, bar, restaurant and pharmacy all know me on a first name basis and generally know what I want without having to ask me. Love the neighborhood!... Read 14 reviews

Former Resident: Fantastic neighborhood in Brooklyn. I lived here for 5 years - before the Barclays center was built and moved out just after it opened. Once it opened, the neighborhood got busier and had more commercial activity. Some of this was good (more food and retail options) and some bad (traffic, pedestrian noise). Overall it was a lovely place to live full of nice tree lined streets, diverse and friendly people, and great food/drink options. Close to trains (subway and LIRR) and the park. Great for families. Not so great for parking. Felt very safe here and had no issues. Wish I could afford to buy something, but it’s just so expensive.... Read 18 reviews

Current Resident: The most expensive neighborhood as well as the safest. And currently the richest neighborhood too. Certainly doesn’t look that way though. Pretty much every single subway you could ever want or need you can get here. Very off the grid too. Doesn’t look as fancy or posh as it is. The tall residential towers are the clue that it’s not your typical place. Lots of schools, community centers, gyms, plenty of eating options, the World Trade Center is here which has a mall to shop in & Brookfield Place more shopping & eating, movie theaters & a bus that will take you around downtown for free. Also, includes the largest Whole Foods in NYC with access on 3 sides, dog parks & dog day care centers. Lots of celebrities live here & stay here when they’re in town. Last but not least it has the one & only French hotel. Fouquets Hotel in the United States. It’s considered fancier to live here than the Upper East Side now a days.... Read 14 reviews

Current Resident: Charming neighborhood! There are many amazing Italian restaurants, local coffee shops, beautiful tree-lined streets, large grocery stores and more! It is a more quiet part of Brooklyn, but still an easy commute into the city if you want crazy nightlife opportunities. You are a short walk from Brooklyn Bridge Park, Park Slope, and other large outdoor spaces to walk your dog or go for a run. There are several subway stops as well as bus stops to make it easy to get around. It is a safe neighborhood. The neighborhood is Brooklyn's best kept secret.... Read 24 reviews

Current Resident: I love living in Park Slope! It's very friendly, great for kids and adults alike, there's lots going on and the architecture is beautiful. The proximity to Prospect Park on one side and the breweries of Gowanus on the other doesn't hurt either. Current Resident: We moved here about six months ago and are really enjoying the experience. It’s definitely an urban vibe (love all the conveniences), but people are generally very friendly and open to at least a quick chat on the street. It probably helps if you have a dog, as many people here do. The access to outstanding schools is among the best in NYC. Many (not all) local restaurants are thriving after Covid. MTA Bus service is strong. This area, while certainly not inexpensive, seems to be a more affordable alternative to other NYC options offering a similar quality of life. BTW, cool diversity, and I love the way the local Orthodox and LGBTQ communities co-exist with smiles.... Read 54 reviews

Current Resident: What I like about Little Italy is that everything is convenient or at your fingertips, I would say. The supermarkets, the laundromat, the grocery store, the discount store, beauty supply store, restaurants, parks are all nearby and at walking distance which is very comfortable. What I also like is that you feel safe anywhere in this neighborhood. Either during the day, evening or night time there are always several lights and people outside. The commute time from my school to my house is not bad either. It takes like 30 minutes.... Read 2 reviews

Current Resident: I’ve lived in Cobble Hill off and one for the past 15 years. We recently purchased another townhome to restore my in 2018 (top of the market). Unfortunately COVId and the way the economy was on the downhill before the virus has made it very difficult for my tenants (who all make $200k or more in salary) pay their rent. New York has become a little too much of an advocate for the tenant. It’s wiping away our neighborhood. I work for a real estate analytics group and I fear this area will price people out.
